Undoubtedly one of the lighting world’s most elegant silhouettes, the Pillar light’s sophisticated Art Deco lines belie its original maritime purpose. Part of heritage British lighting manufacturer Davey’s repertoire for nearly one hundred years, the slim wall light was designed in the 1920s as a ship’s saloon light to ensure unwavering illumination for passengers in calm and rocky seas.
Today, Davey Lighting’s bathroom and outdoor-safe Pillar lights are manufactured using materials and manufacturing techniques unchanged for a century. Individual extruded glass rods of the finest clarity and brilliance are hand-cut to various lengths at Original BTC’s Birmingham glassworks, then set within a choice of metal casings of various widths.
