CSCS (PQP) Cards
Associate members can apply for a Professionally Qualified Persons (PQP) cards from the Construction Skills Certification Scheme, the leading skills certification scheme (CSCS) within the UK construction industry.
Eligibility Criteria
Interior design graduates must have a qualification in interior design/architecture recognised at level 5 or validated by a UK University, with less than three years of interior design work experience.
Those with a Diploma (validated by a UK university)/Foundation Degree/HND in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture and less than 4 years experience and those with a BA (validated by a UK university) in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture and less than 3 years experience are eligible to join as Interior Designer: Associate.
If you have a level 4 or below qualification in interior design, you may apply to become a Provisional Associate. Once you have gained at least two years of work experience, you may upgrade to Associate membership by taking the Provisional Associate to Associate online assessment.
Application Process
Applicants are required to complete the online application form and include details of their education, work experience, and areas of expertise.
You will also be required to upload the following information to your application:
- Professional Interior Design Certificate – recognised at level 5, or validated by a UK University
Membership Fees
Interior Designer: Associate *£270 + VAT per year. Membership dues are based on the calendar year (April - March). Memberships are pro-rated every month. *If you switch to paying by direct debit you can spread your payments over the year by a direct debit collection only. If payment is made by BACS/Credit or Debit card the full invoice amount must be paid. Fees are reviewed annually.
Graduates who apply within a year of graduating from a UK recognised level 5 or 6 diploma/degree in interior design will receive a reduced rate subscription of £120 + VAT (pro-rated) for their first subscription invoice.
Terms and Conditions
- Code of Conduct - The Institute requires all Associate members to abide by the BIID Code of Conduct
- Annual Subscription - Our financial year for membership runs from 1st April to 31st March. Annual subscriptions are due on 1st April. Individuals who apply mid-year will be issued an invoice calculated monthly on a pro-rata basis.
- Resignations - Members should inform the Institute by 31st March if they do not wish to renew their membership.
- Refunds - No refunds of a subscription or part subscription are possible.
