Published on

Architectural and social historian Dr Lucy Worsley has been revealed as the MC for the 2024 British Institute of Interior Design Awards ceremony. Lucy’s vast expertise spans across historical writing, television presenting and as Chief Curator of the Historic Royal Palaces.

On 17th October, Lucy will present the BIID Awards to seven regional winners, the Anna Whitehead Sustainability Prize and the overall Interior of the Year Prize. The ceremony will be held at Drapers’ Hall, which is known for its connection to the drapery trade and for once being the site of Thomas Cromwell’s Tudor palace. Lucy is a specialist in Tudor history to the present day, making Drapers’ Hall and its rich history the perfect backdrop for the ceremony.

During the awards, the audience will be treated to a talk on Tudor Design, where Lucy will share her wealth of knowledge on the subject. As a passionate and experienced speaker on various TV programmes and series including the BBC’s ‘Lucy Worsley Investigates’ and ‘Lucy Worsley’s Royal Palace Secrets’, audiences are set to be wowed by the day’s events.

BIID President, May Fawzy comments, “It’s exciting for our interior design community to be able to experience Lucy’s expert insights into architecture and history first-hand and at an event that celebrates the very best in British interior design. Lucy’s talk will ignite the imagination as the room fills with anticipation for the announcement of this year’s winners.”

The BIID Interior Design Awards is sponsored by Headline Sponsor Havwoods, Sustainability Sponsor Swatchbox, and Sponsored by Abels, and Decorex.
