With uninterrupted views across London, this spectacular 5 bedroom Penthouse apartment in the heart of Knightsbridge effortlessly combines luxurious and contemporary design with modern living.
Working with a long-standing partner of ours, the brief was simple – to provide seamless automation throughout the property, that beautifully blended into the interiors. All elements needed to be subtle and discreet, whilst still providing all the functionality and mod-cons expected of this calibre home.
Projects Highlights
Upon entering the penthouse you are welcomed by a soft and steady glow, as the motion-activated lights illuminate the entrance and hallway, highlighting the exquisite interiors of the home.
Throughout the property, all elements, including lighting control, automated shading, climate control, security control, audio and multi room TVs, have been carefully considered to provide the desired functionality whilst maintaining the understated and discreet presence required.
The KNX system alongside IPAS keypads, provide intuitive control at the entrance of each room, with a single keypad featuring buttons for day, evening and late evening lighting scenes. This keypad also provides control of the double track automated blinds and curtains, and depending on the rooms function specialist scenes, such as the movie button in the media room, which lowers the blinds and selected lights whilst turning the TV on.
Audio has been included, via Amina invisible speakers, which are positioned throughout key areas in the property. Hidden behind plastered walls, these speakers provide high quality, evenly distributed audio suitable for ambient background music in areas such as the hallway and dining room, or as part of a full entertainment system in the living room and master suite.
In the master suite, the invisible audio is accompanied by a hidden TV, with an automated TV lift in the foot of the bed. Controlled via the smart remote and touchscreen, the TV appears at the touch of a button, allowing the owners to enjoy entertainment without interrupting the stunning views over looking Hyde Park.
