Bringing the high-end Swiss restaurant concept to London, Heritage opened its first London location in 2019. Hospitality Projects worked with Project management and design practice Kanvass delivering loose furniture and a bespoke herringbone upholstered wall.
The project, completed in 2019, used a range of prominent materials to coerce the diner into the establishment. The restaurant features a range of warm colours with an industrial ambience. Leather has been prominent in this project, very reminiscent of the alpine designs and furniture of the Swiss. Dark stained timber has been used to gently transition the leather chairs to the ground so as to blend the furniture into one piece.
The herringbone pattern is made up of over 1000 separate olive-stained Crest Leather rectangles. Each individual tile was meticulously handcrafted by a leather artisan and bound to perfectly hug the wall of the restaurant, in a truly unique feature. This leather wall section is not only functional and insulating, but artistic and expertly crafted.
The leather pairs well with the brutal brick facade on the inside of the restaurant, and mirrors the features of the chairs adjacent, also bound with olive-stained leather.
Heritage is an exquisite culinary destination that skilfully combines the intimacy of dining with a contemporary menu to celebrate the rich and diverse culinary traditions of the Alpine region. The restaurant’s ambience is carefully crafted to provide a cosy and inviting atmosphere where diners can indulge while being surrounded by the elegant decor.
