This project took place in 2020 on a building with a rich and unique history. We were initially approached by Mike Etheridge Construction, in July 2020, to create a lighting scheme for a renovation project he was completing in Coleford.

The aim was to create a warm, rustic feel for a new restaurant that would be opening at the end of the year. The impressive history of the building very much gave inspiration for this project. Where once was housed a sweet, tobacco and barber shop, now stands the fully renovated restaurant.

Carmen was responsible for overseeing this project and included lighting that would perfectly compliment the design of the space. By December 2020 installation began, which needed to be completed in just one month due to unforeseen circumstances - Covid!

The project included:

3-way Hereford cluster chandelier

The upstairs dining space features two 3-way Hereford dish cluster chandeliers, which provide atmospheric lighting for guests to dine beneath.

Upton and Wellington pendant lights

Upon entering the building, you are greeted by two rows of Wellington and Upton pendant lights. A mixture of ribbed and skinny ribbed glass perfectly complements the stunning exposed brick wall. Carmen designed the lighting scheme to feel as eccentric and distinctive as the space itself.

Copper Moccas

Suspended above the restaurant’s bar hang three industrial must-haves, the Copper Moccas. The copper finish of the shade work well with the rustic vibe of the space, and matches the copper-top tables

Upton industrial wall lights

The industrial wall light fitting features a smaller back plate than our contemporary wall light. Carmen thought this style would tie in perfectly to the exposed beams and overall feel of the building.

3-way staggered cluster

At the front of the restaurant is a gorgeous, big window. Carmen identified that to effectively fill the window space there would need to be a feature piece, which was decided to be a beautiful 3-way Hereford staggered cluster chandelier. This light proved to be an impressive statement for passers-by and guests on arrival.

5-way Hereford staggered cluster

The staircase that leads from the bottom floor dining area to the top floor dining area, required a lot more light. To avoid creating a forgettable and sombre walk from one floor to another, the installation of a 5-way Hereford staggered cluster was a great way to include a lot of much need light and look beautiful whilst doing so.
