BIID Interior Design Awards 25 Open
The BIID Interior Design Awards Return For 2025
Returning for its fourth consecutive year, the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID) is delighted to announce that entries are now open for the BIID Interior Design Awards 2025. The prestigious awards scheme honours the finest interior design projects, highlighting exceptional residential and commercial schemes of all sizes. New for 2025, the BIID is introducing a new International Award category, rewarding exceptional projects from around the world.
BIID President Angela Bardino comments: “We are thrilled to announce the introduction of a new International Award category for the 2025 BIID Interior Design Awards. This new category reflects our commitment to celebrating outstanding interior design projects by UK practices on a global scale. In this milestone 60th year for the Institute, we look forward to celebrating the exceptional creativity and technical skill demonstrated by interior designers worldwide.”
The International Award category recognises outstanding projects beyond the UK for the first time. Entries are open to UK Interior Designers and Interior Architects, for residential or commercial projects of any size, completed outside of the UK. If shortlisted, projects will be site assessed via video.
This year’s entry process for the UK regional categories requires interior design and architectural studios to submit UK based project entries based on the regional location of the project itself. The winners will be awarded across 8 regional categories:
- Central London
- Greater London
- Midlands & East Anglia
- North & North West
- Scotland & Northern Ireland
- South East
- South West & Wales
- International (new for 2025!)
Each shortlisted UK regional project for the BIID Awards will receive an in-person visit from a BIID Registered Interior Designer expert Site Assessor. The assessor's findings and feedback will be shared with the BIID Judging Panel, who will evaluate each project based on this year’s entry criteria, which includes successfully meeting a design brief, offering creative design solutions, demonstrating sustainability, and showcasing technical skills.
In addition, two special awards will be presented for outstanding projects. The 'Interior of the Year Prize' will be awarded to the best overall interior design project, selected from the regional award winners. The 'Anna Whitehead Prize' will be given for the best achievement in sustainable interior design, in memory of the late BIID member and sustainability advocate, interior designer, Anna Whitehead.
The BIID Interior Design Awards welcomes entries from both BIID members and non-members, from both residential and commercial sectors and for projects of any size, to allow all interior designers and interior architects in the UK to enter.
Winning a BIID award is a considerable accolade, as previous winner Lisa Chadfield, Architect for James Brookman Design - No. 5 explains: “We were thrilled to be winners at the 2024 BIID Interior Design Awards. Our brief was to create a sophisticated, dynamic workspace, designed to reflect the company’s professional services and youthful culture. The result was a positive and coveted workspace, offering something new to discover around every corner, ensuing a truly exceptional project. The judges agreed and we were awarded not only Scotland & Northern Ireland Regional Winners, but also Interior of the Year. Our client is very proud of their project and wanted to let everyone know about it, especially now it’s a double BIID award-winning project.”
This year’s winners will be announced at the prestigious BIID awards ceremony, taking place on Thursday 23rd October 2025, at the impressive Drapers’ Hall, London. The venue’s exquisite interiors continue to provide a fitting backdrop to celebrate the BIID Interior Design Awards, bringing together the interior design community, under one roof.
The BIID is delighted to announce its 2025 Awards Headline Sponsor, Havwoods, as well as event sponsors ABI Interiors, Decorex and Sofas & Stuff.
